Hi! I’m Vicky the SLP behind Speak Out Therapy.

 

I’ve had the pleasure to serve Manitobans for many years now as a speech-language pathologist in both the school system and regional health authorities. I’ve helped people of all ages – from 18 months to young adults – achieve their best speaking abilities.

 

For the last 2 years, I provided service with the Manitoba Remote Learning Support Centre (MRLSC) – Manitoba’s online school – to help children who couldn’t attend their classroom in-person during the pandemic.

 

This last year I had a hoot with grade 1 and 2 kids across our province with the after-school Language and Literacy program I developed for the MRLSC.

 

I am so proud of what we accomplished and honoured to have worked for the Remote Learning Centre. It was through them I discovered that I loved doing online therapy.

 

I work out of my Winnipeg home. Don’t be surprised if a cat or two (or three) pop up on the screen with me when we are doing our online therapy together.

Professional Credentials

  • Registered Member of the College of Speech and Language Pathologists of Manitoba (RSLP).

  • Masters Degree (MS) in Speech-Language Pathology.

  • Certified Manitoba School Clinician.

  • Certified Speech-Language Pathologist with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CCC-SLP).

What do I like to work with?

  • Helping with those pesky speech sounds that just aren’t sounding right (articulation).

  • Improving grammar or vocabulary to put thoughts into words (language).

  • Smoothing out the bumpy speech of stuttering (dysfluency).

  • Supporting reading skills by learning to play with the sounds of a language (phonological awareness).

  • Helping soothe your voice from vocal strain or damage (when recommended by a doctor).
